My Doughnut Plant obsession endures.

Remember how I swore I'd never try a Doughnut Plant doughnut away from the place of origin ever again? Well, that was until I showed up at Joe The Art of Coffee super-hungry (no breakfast, no lunch) one day last week. On offer? One of Doughnut Plant's seasonal cake doughnut flavors: pomegranate.

Oh. My. Gah.

This doughnut was absolutely delicious. A combination of almost-savory cake and a sweet, pomegranate seed-studded glaze. Just - wow.

I stand corrected.

Oh, and the cappuccino was darn good, too.

Totally love Doughnut Plant. In fact, Mark Israel, the owner, had a throw down with Bobby Flay.

Next time your there stop by next door at Kosars Bialy's and across the street, the Pickle Guys for awesome pickles and other pickled veggies.

I have been obsessively reading about Donut Plant for years. I love it when FoodTV highlights them. On my list FOR SURE on my next visit to NY! And I already know I want the Tres Leche donut and the Creme Brulée donut. So jealous you can have them whenever you want! That pomegranate one sounds great.

OMG I love Doughnut Plant. I used to work walking distance from there and that would be my extra-special afternoon treat.

Oh man, now I can't get them out of my mind....And yes the bialys at Kosars are to die for, too.

@Mitch: I haven't yet tried the bialys (every time I go, they're already closed), but it's on the list for my next LES foray!

@Lorna: Oooh, I want to try the creme brulee, too. I insist on accompanying you so I can see the look on your face!

@Simone: That sounds incredibly dangerous. In fact, now that I know how close I am to Doughnut Plant AND bialys on a regular basis (my hairdresser is a block away), I am in real trouble - the delicious kind.
